My friend let me drive her car today after she saw me pretending to shift as she drove.  I was excited, shocked, and nervous all at the same time.  I almost cried because of it.  I've been wanting to drive her car (a 2007 Honda Civic) for quite some time but I've been too chicken to ask her.  Now she'll let me practice even more, since there's really no one else who can teach me (my mom=fail when it comes to manual transmissions, and my dad has no stick-shift cars at the moment.)  My grade: B+.  Shifting was somewhat difficult because I made the engine go way too high while shifting, and even swerved at one point.  But I'll get better.  I hav

I'm now starting flower photography, and I have LOTS of flower pictures.  I got into it by looking for flowers I could use in my paintings, and I ended up taking pics of wet roses and giant lilies.  I have so many that I'll have to be really picky on what I upload, because I have a few more paintings on the way into my gallery too.

Today I had my mom give me a driving lesson.  The car was a 2000 Nissan Quest (I'm keeping track of the makes and models of my "firsts").  My mom had me back out of the parking space (I messed up on that part; I would have hit a car if there was one present), and then I drove out of my condo parking lot, successfully going through the automatically opening exit gate.  We drove in a nearby manufactured home park, where I practiced stopping, signaling, turning, and lane changes.  I did very good there, and then it was time to go out into traffic.  This is where my "first" takes place with this vehicle: first time driving into traffic.  My mom w
